THE EMPIRE STYLE

The Swedish Empire style is a cross-over of French Empire and Swedish Gustavian style. The chandeliers usually have a drop bottom of long drop prisms ending in a point. The crown can be a beautiful plume of octagons ending with an almond. The main rings are connected with rows of octagons usually gradually getting bigger and bigger. The main ring is adorned with ornaments. All parts are sandcasted brass. This chandelier has the typical Gustavian arms looking like horizontal fives.

Chandelier 4294-6U on the left is shown without prisms adornments on its 6 arms.

Chandelier 4294-5M on the right is shown with delicate chains of octagons ending in almonds between each of its 5 arms.

The same chandeliers can be made with a basket bottom, you will find them in the Gustavian Style Collection.
